Hong Kong
Hong Kong is incredibly intrepreneurial; everyone is in business; on the street, waiting for the light to change, everyone is doing business on a cellphone; anything goes.
Now that Hong Kong is part of China, it will be interesting to see whether Hong Kong drives China to be more open and laissez-faire or whether China drives Hong Kong backwards. So far, the former is, fortunately, winning out.
India
India is not for everyone, but it has a fascinating history, still feels part of the "Empire" and has, of course, world famous sites.
India has a population second in size only to China, and growing more rapidly. It also would like to be the subject of the investment influx China is seeing now. However, officially joining the nuclear club and highly regulating incoming foreign investment do not seem the right way.
